Liz Loether

Cajon Valley Union School District
Director Learning Support Services
Greater San Diego Area

Liz Loether is the director of Learning Support Services and Educational Technology for Cajon Valley Union School District, which serves more than 16,000 students in East San Diego County. Loether oversees the one-to-one Google Chromebook program, the Cajon Valley Digital Academy badging platform, professional development, and student safety and supports. She also organizes the annual TEDxKids@ElCajon event that translates the well-known TED conferences into a family friendly, student-driven event. TEDxKids@ElCajon has led the way to presentation literacy in all district schools as an authentic vehicle for students to learn communication and presentation skills. Through TED, TED-Ed, and TEDx, the school district is able to lift up the human condition in its community and beyond. Loether is happy to chat about how districts and schools can implement TED-Ed Clubs and build TEDx events with student speakers.
